Psychedelics: Art. Culture. Science. is a Royal Ontario Museum exhibition in Toronto. Its exhibition page gives a run of 6 June 2026 to 3 January 2027 on Level 4, four weeks longer than first announced (ROM). The ROM says it brings together 90 objects, from its own collections and from lenders, on the art, cultural history and science of psychedelics (ROM, 2026). The concept came from the ROM curator Justin Jennings and the writer Colin Fleming.
The ROM says the show is organised around six questions, from what psychedelics are to what their future may be, and includes a reproduction of a 1956 letter from Aldous Huxley to Humphry Osmond about naming the drugs (ROM, April 2026). CAMH advised the museum and lent a wooden medicine tray from the old Queen Street Mental Health Centre (CAMH). The Globe and Mail’s review found it careful and noted 36 advisers (Globe and Mail, 2026).
The ROM attaches a note saying it does not recommend or encourage psychedelic use and that most psychedelics remain illegal in many countries, including Canada (ROM, 2026). It is a museum survey, not a clinical or legal source.
